TOP HOUSE

Go go go you can to do it one last jump. On Friday we had Top House, Its is a day where you show leadership and have heaps of fun. I was a leader I found it really fun and my team did great we worked together and thats the main thing. The challenges were very entertaining there was allsorts. There was passing a stick down the line in your team them you run to the front and keep doing it over and over until you at the cone.Then you run back and do it again, also there was  chucking these jack things into a bucket and and every one you get in the bucket you got a point my team was ok at this one but not great. Next there was a one you have to stand in a hoop and someone chucks you a ball and then you pass it down the line and then throw it into a hoop, but you have to make sure you don't throw too far otherwise it will miss. Also there one was  that Mr Ford took when there is hurdles and you have to jump over them but there is six lilly pads that you have to put out and make sure you can get across to the cone you can move them round but you can’t touch the ground and thats the challenge but we made it I got 8 of my team across. The last activity was a two legged race and and then you and your partner you went with, you both chuck a ball at a wicket. Thats all the activities. I was proud of my team I really want to have that team back. I felt tired and happy at the end of the day  I really enjoyed the day.

Assembly Item

Friday 5th of July

On Friday we did our assembly item. It was a camp kitawa documentary. It had two hosts and they were Charlotte and josh  and all the rest of us were either Mum, dad, kid, baby grandma and granddad I chose to be a baby i wore my pink leopard onesie and when they entered I went all scared like you are these people. It was really fun and and enjoying but really long. I felt I little weird at first but once we got into it I was fine it became more fun every minute. The dance was the funnest just getting up there and dancing I did the splits at the end and it was really fun. I think it went quite well apart from when the Colgate video played up apart I think it was other wise great.     

  

Floating forest adventure

Crashing of waves as we sailed around us. Waves smacked around our small boat. Drops of the salty water flicked against our faces   Something came into sight what was it I sailed closer there was trees even closer we realised that it was a abandoned ship with trees growing on it. We got excited and wanted to get there more than ever.  After ten minutes we were there at the boat we wondered why it had trees on it.

Charlotte wanted to get inside we sailed around there was a trap door. Pulling and heaving the boat almost slipped away and charlotte and i almost fell in. The trap door was creaking so we tried again at last it swung open. It was a tight squeeze we tied our boat to the little hand of the trap door. Spider webs everywhere we looked it was thin we came to the end. Charlotte and I came into this area covered with trees. We began to explore floorboards creaked as we walked it felt like eyes looking down at us.

Charlotte headed for the thick trees she screamed” ahhhhhhh,” there was something in there charlotte whispered to me. We creeped closer” anyone there ” I  yelled. no reply. I Creeped even close charlotte stayed back, I soon came to the end I called out to charlotte to come. When she got there I said it might be the wind” “are you sure said charlotte. We headed back  on the way back charlotte stumbled on something what was it we both looked down a golden key. We ran back to where the trap door was. Puzzled charlotte and I looked around for a door charlotte said lets look back in all the trees. Looking as we walked I stepped right on to a wooden plank.

I kneeled down charlotte came over I knocked on it the was an echo me and charlotte heaved to see if we could move it. Heaving and heaving the wood came flying off there was a thin rope charlotte wondered if we should go down because it could be dangerous she said. I didn't listen to her and skimmed down the rope. Shadows creeped along the walls as the light beamed in charlotte yelled at me” is it self i'll come down,”” yeah think so I yelled back. Charlotte skimmed down the rope waiting I heard a sudden movement above us.

Slam!!!The wood I cried oh no”it could not of shut by itself someone must of put the wood back cried charlotte “its pitch dark” I cried. I walked straight into something what was it charlotte ran over see what happened she almost did it as well it felt hard like metal charlotte reached out to see what it was a solid piece of iron. We both got excited this must be priceless I said lets see if we can get back up. Charlotte climbed the rope I held the tight at the bottom charlotte  took one  hand of the rope she and pushed and pushed until  it flung off.

Charlotte climbed out and waited for me before I started to climb I stepped  on something soft I bend  down it was a dairy why is a dairy I called out to charlotte I found a dairy I’ll bring it up I put it in my pocket. Heaving  up the rope I thought of all the secrets that the diary may tell heaps maybe how this ship got landed here or may say who was on board. I got to the top with lots of puffing. Charlotte and I went back to where the little trap door and sat down and began reading from the sunlight. The the first page of the dairy said

It was a rough night the waves were big sailors fell overboard Don't where the ships going my dads dead I don't know what to do

  I think I might die because the sea just getting too rough. But first the captains dead its unbearable

Melodie

Who melodie charlotte explained maybe she was on the ship at the time I said what if she died charlotte said. She might of I said lets check out the second page I said it might tell us a bit more

. The anchor suck it can't move its stuck to a rock I think I might die.

This might be my last note before I die or the boat sinks.

Last night it felt like something might.

Haunting the ship.There is only one crew member left.

I think if we don't get saved we are going to die together.

Melodie

A ghost” I whimper” It can't be matilda they don’t exist” said charlotte I suppose. Lets go explore even more charlotte said jumping around. Ok ok” coming lets go for another look” I don't think anyone's here” I said. Lets go and see if we can see what's inside apart from the iron I think I have a torch in the boat I’ll go and get it. After 5 minutes charlotte was back with the torch.

Together we made our way to the piece of wood I went first waiting in the dark for Charlotte. Charlotte flicked on her torch and we looked around there was a door at the end we ran over it was locked matilda matilda do you have the key” “ yes here it is it slid into the keyhole perfectly. Slowly we walked forward not knowing what was in front of us. A bed what is a tatty bed doing down here maybe its was melodies cabin look its a dressers. Lets look inside clothes It must be melodies clothes. It must be getting late we should start to head back said charlotte we headed started to head back through the dark tunnel what an adventure. Once finished climbing up the rope we headed back to our boat and that was such a great adventure I still wish I could come back to the floating forest.

All farm dogs should be trained to avoid kiwis....

Yes side

First of all farm dogs should be trained in case one is on someones farm and the dog could kill it could kiwis could be anywhere. Farm dogs should be trained because there is one on your farm and they keep getting killed they won't be one of our icons. Farm dogs be trained because the kiwi is a endangered species and soon could be extinct.

They should all be trained.

Against side

All farm dogs should not be trained because they are there on natural instincts.They should just be themselves nothing else If you get them trained they might not listen or behave and just cause havoc. Farm dogs should not be trained because they are made for rounding up and animals and other thing.

Tramping in the bush

Crunch of leaves as we walked up the ranges it is 9 km and takes about 5 hours  Fleur Kelly and I we going up the ranges looking for native animals it was only a day trip lucky . Fleur was coming because she loves hiking and just loves the outdoors. Fleur is fun to be with she is fast and very perky, One of fleurs things she normally always wears is shorts and t-shirts she is wearing that now. Kelly had to come with us because my dad said we needed help and got lost. Kelly loves the outdoors Kelly is so much fun and active she is 22 years old.

We started to climb the steep mountain it was as steep as climbing. Our feet were stinging it finally became smoother and not as steep. Tui started to sing its tune it sounded so beautiful. Lying on the ground were tree branches all different shades of green. Flowing down the rock of the hills edge was a fresh waterfall the water was as cold as ice almost frozen but still gushing down the rock edge. The pine trees became closer together blocking the sun out it felt so cold fleur did not feel it felt like it was going to snow.    

We all became hungry we stopped and had a delicious morning tea with lemonade and biscuits. Kelly said” we better head off” fleur said she wanted to in the front so she did Kelly was at the back I was in the middle it. It started to get a little darker the trees were blocking the light in Kelly said “I’m sure we turned the wrong way” But we kept walking the trees started to give light. I told the others wasn't that where we had morning tea it was. Fleur you took the wrong turn we walked straight not the loop track that time. We briskly walked along we saw a weta hotel we opened it up there was three wetas one looked like a baby we shut it up and carried on.We came to a pitch black cave hidden among the branches.               

 

We ran over to it we looked inside it was so dark I flicked my flashlight on and looked around the cave walls were so dusty. That was why it was so hard to see inside” I don't think so” said Fleur and leaned in a little bit too far and fell into a deep hole.It was scary watching fleur wizz down the deep hole . She screamed as she fell she I shone my flashlight down it was dark. We all did not know what to there was in the cave panicking we could not get her out we thought for a bit but no one had any good ideas. Down in the cave fleur was complaining of a twisted knee. Fleur looked down at the floor there was dead rats and mice  they were all over the floor it looked like they had been there for centuries it was just white dirty skeletons and a skeleton hand it looked gross but like the rats and mice we tried to get her out but it was no use. We all did not know what to there was in the cave panicking we could not get her out

I suddenly have an idea Kelly” “would weaving flax work and then put it down the hole so we could pull her up” Yes that is a great idea but where do you get the flax” I saw some back there ok we went back and got heaps we took it back and started to weave it only took us 20 minutes to weave it was not that good but it we lowered it down it just made it to fleur. She grabbed on for dear life we heaved and heaved finally she got to the top we pulled her the rest of the way. Her knee was still aching so kelly put her on her back and we walked back down the hill.

Caving At Camp

Squelch Slurp  as I trampled through sticky mud. I listened to the car or truck go past. I started to climb up my hands got dirty from the sandstone. Waiting so patiently my turn

Gripping tight to the rope I went down the rope was burning my hands my feet were jumping down onto the rocks Miss Hill I learnt back, My feet touched the rocky ground. Crunch went my shoes on the rocks I looked in front of me there was big rocks and little rocks  even rocks that hung from the rock roof like icicles. Leaping climbing I got to where everyone was. I could hear  water was dribbling down the jagged rocks.

We had to go down a hole in single file line. We had to crawl through it was dark but the torches lit it up as there was like a small canyon with big and small jagged rocks everywhere, I looked up the roof was right above my head. Slowly went up the hole to the top of the hole smile says Miss Hill flash went the camera.

Slowly I heaved myself up my legs felt so stiff and sore. Briskly I walked and jumped back to the group. After a few pictures we headed back waiting again to go up my turn came quickly it was so much easier to go up you just held the rope steep by steep I put my feet on the rocks and pulled myself up.

Pippi rose

Pippi Rose

Pippi is my little sister she was born on the 31st of march 2011. Her hair color is a light blonde brown her fringe was covering her eyes so my Dad cut it. Her beautiful eyes are a cute brown.  She is very cheeky at night she climbs out of her cot at night and goes down to my mum and dads beds my dad always puts her back. Pippi goes to Playcentre in Havelock on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and sometimes on Thursday. Pippi has my mums old Ipad 1 she loves it we took the password of so she could get on with out asking us Pippi’s favourite game is mr fox and it plays music when you listen to it nearly every day it gets really annoying. She always runs away pippi when I was at jazz one day and my mum was doing the washing and oscar was who knows where he was and pippi very independent she is loves to do things without being bossed around by anybody or she will just yell. Pippi loves horses she rides a horse called candy kisses at my cousins farm in norseword dannevirke she only walks to the mailbox once on candy and just sits on her and she also likes dogs she loves to play with my nana’s dog at her house the dog is called Frith loves chasing Frith while she runs and jumps around. Pippi’s personality is cheeky, funny, cuddly and cute. Pippi has a soft toy called monty

This morning me and my camp group made machines we made a lawnmower and  a washing machine.Our group argued over which idea we were going to do I think we could work without any arguments so we were quicker. We had to make all the thing out of our bodies the lawnmower while other groups found is heaps easier At first it was hard but as we got better it got easy we did not finish the washing machine. We had to make all the thing out of our bodies the lawnmower while other groups found is heaps easier. But for us it was hard we did a lot of talking trying to figure out how to make the lawnmower we had nearly finished when the  teacher told us to stop I think if we had a couple more minutes we would have finished. The washing machine we thought about how to make the washing machine but we were all talking over each other and we asked other groups but we tried them but they Didn’t work. At camp I think it will be very challenging at camp.

Powhiri

Yesterday we did a Powhiri with room 18 because Mr Cotrell is Maori  Before we did the porwiri miss garland and Mr Cotrell gave us a talk about Powhiri I learned heaps when we went and practiced. Some of it felt a little weird. When we had to watch the boys do the wero  When you are sitting down you a not aloud to smile or laugh. I found it hard not smile when it was the Wero I held it in but I felt like bursting out laughing. The wero is a type of challenge if you laugh or smile it is disrespectful for there culture if you laugh or smile you will get your head chopped off. Some words in Maori are hard for me but some words are quite easy. I learned heaps about a powhiri and heaps of Maori words. We all had to be in a waiata while the room 18 watched us
